2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
Name, email address, password (hashed), and profile information.
2.2 User-Uploaded Content
Documents (manuscripts, essays, text files in .txt, .md, .docx, .pdf, .rtf, .html); audio files (.mp3, .wav, .m4a); video files (.mp4, .mov, .webm, .avi); URLs and YouTube links; free-text notes.
2.3 AI-Generated Content
Generated essays, multi-speaker dialogue scripts, synthetic speech audio files, and transcriptions from uploaded audio/video.
2.4 Project and Usage Data
Project names, descriptions and metadata; generation names, status and progress; cast and speaker selections; voice configurations; and how your knowledge base is organized.
2.5 Automatically Collected Information
Device information (browser, OS, device type), log data (IP, access times, pages viewed), usage analytics (feature usage, session duration), cookies and similar technologies.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 Providing Platform Services
- Content processing — parsing uploaded documents to extract text
- AI generation — sending text content to LLM providers for essay and dialogue generation
- Audio synthesis — processing dialogue through TTS services for synthetic audio
- Transcription — processing uploaded audio/video through speech-to-text with speaker diarization
- Knowledge base indexing — creating vector embeddings for semantic retrieval
- Storage and persistence — saving projects, generations, transcripts, audio, KB items across sessions
3.2 Account Management
Authentication, communication, enforcing Terms of Service.
3.3 Platform Improvement
Usage pattern analysis, bug fixing, feature development.
3.4 Communication
Service announcements, support responses, opt-in marketing.
3.5 Legal and Safety
Legal compliance, rights protection, fraud detection.
5. Data Processing for AI Features
5.1 Content Processing Pipeline
- Document upload — files parsed server-side to extract text; originals stored securely
- Knowledge base indexing — content converted to vector embeddings for semantic retrieval
- Essay generation — prompts and KB content sent to LLM providers
- Dialogue generation — essays and cast selections sent to LLM providers
- Dysfluency injection — server-side natural speech patterns applied per speaker profile
- Audio generation — dialogue sent to TTS providers with voice configurations
- Transcription — audio/video sent to STT providers for transcription with diarization
5.2 AI Training
We do not use your User Content to train our own AI models. Your content and outputs are used solely to provide services to you. Third-party AI providers may have their own data usage policies; we select providers offering enterprise-grade data protection that do not use customer data for training.
5.3 Voice Data
Voice clone samples are sent to our TTS provider for model creation, associated with your account only, not shared with other users, and deletable at any time through the Platform.
6. Data Retention
6.1 Active Account
Account information retained for duration of account. Projects, generations, outputs, uploads, audio retained until you delete them or your account.
6.2 After Account Deletion
Personal information deleted within 30 days. User Content deleted within 30 days. Backups purged within 90 days. Anonymized aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely.
6.3 Content Deletion
Removed within 7 days, backups within 90 days.
6.4 Legal Holds
Data may be retained beyond stated periods if required by law.
7. Data Security
- Encryption in transit — TLS 1.2 or higher
- Encryption at rest — AES-256 or equivalent
- Access controls — restricted to authorized personnel, need-to-know basis
- Authentication security — passwords hashed using bcrypt or equivalent; MFA supported
- Infrastructure security — SOC 2 compliant data centers
- Regular audits — periodic security assessments and vulnerability testing
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Access and Portability
Request a copy of your personal data. Download content via Platform export features (TXT, SRT, VTT, MD, JSON).
9.2 Correction and Deletion
Update account info and edit content directly. Delete individual items or entire account (see Section 6 for timelines).
9.3 Objection and Restriction
Object to certain processing including marketing. Request processing limitations.
9.4 Consent Withdrawal
Withdraw consent at any time; does not affect prior lawful processing.
9.5 Exercising Rights
Contact no-reply@sekond.io. Response within 30 days. Identity verification may be required.
10. International Data Transfers
Data may be processed internationally. Safeguards include standard contractual clauses, data processing agreements with all providers, and compliance with cross-border regulations.
11. Children's Privacy

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Updated policy posted with a new "Last Updated" date. Material changes notified via email or in-app 30 days before taking effect. Consent obtained for material processing changes where required.
